ASHLEY

Leslie Jimenez Ruscito pka as Ashley began her singing career by collaborating with childhood friend, High Power recording artist, Reinaldo. Together with Jose “Boogie Down” Baez they worked on Ashley’s first single “Don’t Let Me Go” which was released on Nightmare Records in March of 1993.  Thanks to its success Ashley was approached by an upcoming group called “Vocal Image”.  She appeared on the group’s debut single “Do You Believe In Me?” released on Metropolitan’s Viper Records imprint in 1994. Ashley performed with Vocal Image,  and also kept her solo career in motion by opening for artists such as George Lamond, TKA, Nyasia, and Cynthia to name a few.

That same year William “Billy Idol” Vigil signed Ashley to his label, Idol Maker Records. Her singles “Over and Over” and “Deceived Me” appeared on the compilation Freestyle Connecticut Style and she received national and international exposure. “Over and Over” charted to #1 on seven Freestyle radio shows, across the U.S.  Her follow-up “The Only One” was featured on another compilation CD, Freestyle Generation Nex.

Ashley has worked with producers Philip Andruela (George Lamond), Willie Valentin (Artistik), and Nelson “FFWD” Cruz.  Ashley also collaborated with Flipzide Records and guest appeared on their first CD, Enter Da Flipzide which featured her single “Quit All Those Games”, written by Alfredo Cardona of Vocal Image.   The single became an instant hit and was one of the most requested songs on the Freestyle charts in 2001.

In November 2002, Ashley had the opportunity to collaborate with Grammy Award winning producer Edwin Ramos Jr. (Bigtime Entertainment) on her single “When’s It All Gonna End?”, which was featured on the Evolution of Dance  compilation.  Ashley’s latest single, “Here We Are”, also produced by Ramos, is out now on CD maxi single, and features nine different versions.

So what does the future hold for Ashley?  First: more independent projects, with other artists and producers, to be released on various labels.  Flipzide Records plans to include Ashley on their second CD. Her single “Movin’ On” is written and produced by Nathan Lee of Flipzide and is sure to be another success.

In addition, Ashley is currently working on a full length album, which will include re-mixes of her hits “Don’t Let Me Go”, “Over and Over”, “Deceived Me”, and “The Only One”.  Her new material will be an interesting blend of the Latin Freestyle flavor mixed with Pop, R&B, Techno, Hip Hop and a few sexy ballads thrown in for good measure.
